There's a problem with website analytics for blogs

The problem with using Google Analytics for website analytics is that rss readers like Google Reader do not trigger the GA javascript that tracks visits. So if your blog is read primarily by rss readers, the GA stats are horribly under-reporting your readership. Yeah, thats the reason for my relatively small readership!

"In order for Google Analytics to track data, it is necessary that the Google Analytics tracking code gets executed. Since most RSS/atom readers cannot execute JavaScript, Analytics will not count pageviews that are loaded through an RSS reader. Analytics requires that the visitor execute a JavaScript file on Google's servers in order to track that Page View."
